The basics
What is gentle care for pregnancy & childhood?
Gentle chiropractic for pregnancy and childhood uses light, low-force techniques to support comfort, posture, and how the body moves as it changes and grows — with an emphasis on wellness, not on treating disease.
Pregnancy asks a lot of the low back and pelvis, and growing, active kids put everyday demands on their spines too. Our aim is simple: help you feel more comfortable and move more easily through these seasons. Care is tailored to each person and stage, always gentle, and focused on function and general wellness rather than curing any condition. If anything falls outside what chiropractic can help with, we’ll say so and point you toward the right care.
The signs
When families come in.
- Low-back or pelvic discomfort during pregnancy
- Sciatica-type discomfort while expecting
- Posture and balance changes as the body shifts
- Kids’ posture — slouching or sitting habits
- Sports strain or heavy-backpack aches
- Wellness checks as active kids grow
This isn’t a diagnosis, and chiropractic doesn’t treat illness in infants or children. If your child is unwell or you have concerns during pregnancy, please see your physician or OB — we’re glad to work alongside them.
Where it starts
What’s changing.
A body in pregnancy
As posture shifts and the pelvis adapts to make room, the low back and hips carry new demands — and comfort can change week to week.
Growing, active kids
Sports, play, and fast growth spurts all ask a lot of a young spine, and posture habits are still forming.
Everyday strains
Heavy backpacks, long hours at a desk or screen, and simple daily habits add up over time for kids and parents alike.

Questions parents ask us
Is chiropractic safe during pregnancy?
Gentle, low-force chiropractic is widely used during pregnancy for comfort and function, and Dr. Marrone tailors care to your stage and how you’re feeling. We use positioning and light techniques chosen for comfort, and we’re happy to coordinate with your OB or midwife. If anything is outside what chiropractic supports, we’ll tell you and refer you on.
Is adjusting a child safe, and does it hurt?
Care for kids uses very light, gentle pressure — much softer than what’s used with adults — and most children find it comfortable and even relaxing. It’s not forceful, and there’s no aggressive cracking. We always go at the child’s pace, and we focus on comfort and wellness, not on treating illness.
Can chiropractic treat conditions in my baby or child?
No. Chiropractic care here is about comfort, posture, and general wellness as kids grow — it doesn’t diagnose or treat illness or disease. If your child is sick or you have a health concern, please see your pediatrician; we’re glad to work alongside your family’s medical team.
When in pregnancy can I come in?
Parents visit at every stage, and care is adapted as your body changes. Comfortable positioning and light techniques are used throughout. If you have a higher-risk pregnancy or specific concerns, check with your OB or midwife first — and we’ll coordinate care with them.
Do I need a referral to bring my child or myself in?
No referral is needed — you can book directly. Start with a free consultation so we can understand your goals, answer questions, and give an honest sense of whether gentle chiropractic is a good fit. There’s no pressure and no obligation.
